Climate Action Secretariat Mandate
The Climate Action Secretariat (CAS) drives change to achieve British Columbia’s greenhouse gas emission reduction targets by drawing on leadership in carbon neutral operations, transportation and energy policy and research and strategic partnerships.
It works with other government ministries to coordinate climate action and ensure that the public sector becomes carbon neutral.
CAS maintains links with First Nations, local governments, the federal government, governments in other jurisdictions, industries, environmental organizations and the scientific community.
It provides information to inform public discussion and dialogue as British Columbians move toward a shared vision of opportunity and action in our communities, businesses and homes.
