Cabinet Committee on Climate Action
- The Cabinet Committee on Climate Action is chaired by the Premier and brings together key government ministries to make policy related to greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction and climate change adaptation.
- The Committee includes the following B.C. Government ministries:
- Community Services
- Finance
- Forests & Range
- Energy, Mines & Petroleum Resources
- Environment
- Labour & Citizen's Services
- Small Business & Revenue
- Transportation
- The Committee had its first meeting in March 2007.
- The Committee sits every two weeks and its work is supported by the Climate Action Secretariat.
- The Committee's job is to:
- Listen to scientific evidence on how to accurately measure and reduce GHG emissions.
- Review policy options on how to reduce GHG emissions.
- Hear suggestions from groups, individuals and businesses on possible actions to address climate change.
