Natural Gas Carbon Content for WCI.040

Together with Spectra Energy, we are pleased to post the carbon content of natural gas required for quantification (using Equation 20-7 in WCI.023(c)(4)) Calculation Methodology 3) of electricity generation emissions for facilities under the WCI.040 methodology.  Please use the carbon content for each month from the appropriate gate station.  An excel file with the information is available here (XLSX/866kb).

The following data may be required as part of the calculations:

    • Reference Pressure: 101.325 kPa
    • Reference Temperature: 15 °C
    • Delivery Condition: dry

The following map of the Spectra transmission system can be used by reporting operations to determine which gate station carbon content should be used: https://noms.wei-pipeline.com/CustomerContent/tariff/system_map_gmi523.pdf
